Established in 1982, PT Duta Graha Indah Tbk is a listed Company and one of the Indonesia largest Construction Company with core business on construction and engineering capabilities that cover all projects, regardless of size, sophistication or location. PT. PT Duta Graha Indah Tbk has strong capability, extensive experience and knowledge in infrastructure and building project likes stadium, roads, irrigation, bridge, airport, factory, office building, hotel, hospital, shore protection and other facilities which cover operating area all over Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua. Since its establishment in 1982, PT. Duta Graha Indah Tbk has successfully completed over 134 infrastructure projects and over 170 building projects across Indonesia.

1982-1985 Establishment and Formation

• Established in 1982
• Focused on projects mainly in Jakarta and Java

1986-1989 Entering Infrastructure Project and Developing Regional Operation

• Developed strategy to execute projects with longer business cycle, infrastructure project
• Entered South Sumatera and Lampung area, construction of Stadium, Roads and Irrigation projects

1990-1997 Growth and Spreading

• Expanded Regional operation in West Sumatra, Riau, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara and South Sulawesi
• The company constructed Roads, Bridges, Big Dam, Irrigations, Harbors , Flood Controls, Shore Protections and River Normalization Projects , among the developments were:
  • Regional Projects
    • Completed Gako-Ende –Paga –Detsuko-Maurile Road Project, 204 km in East Nusa Tenggara. DGI obtain superior reputation for quality and on time delivery for the project which actually has a very difficult terrain.
    • Completed Sermo Dam, the first Big Dam Project built by private construction company.
  • Projects in Jakarta
    • Put up the highest building (54 storeys) , Amartapura Apartment.
    • Built one of the most prestigious building in Sudirman Central Business District, The Jakarta Stock Exchange Building.

1997 -2002 Hibernation Period due to Economic Crisis

• During the economic crisis and few years after the company implemented consolidation in the operation. All Private Sector projects were collapsed. As strategy, the company was only doing projects with secured funding and mainly infrastructure projects in the regional area which were funded by foreign loan (ADB and World Bank).
• The strategy developed in 1986-1989 (Entering Infrastructure Projects and Extending into Regional Operation) made the company survive and paid off al the efforts.

2003 - 2007 Recovering and Focusing on Regional Projects (Autonomy Policy)

• With the Regional Autonomy Policy, the Government will give priority and focusing more on the Infrastructure development in the regional areas.
• The company started to operate in the regional areas since 1986 and therefore became the most ready Private Construction Company to participate in the regional project due to Autonomy Policy. The company expanded the operational areas, built infrastructure and develop projects across the region from Java up to Sumatra, Riau, Nias, Natuna, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
• Built the infrastructure and government building projects in Natuna and East Kalimantan Hasanuddin Airport project.
• In Jakarta, the company built Grand Indonesia, consist of Hotel, Apartment, Office and Mall (the largest commercial development in Indonesia)

2007 IPO in December 2007

2008 Entering Mining Infrastructure Construction

• The company entered a mining infrastructure project for a gold mine operation in Batang Toru, North Sumatera, namely The Martabe Gold Mine. Since that year the company was continuously awarded repeat orders from the mining operation.

2009 Expanded to Projects Overseas

• The company expanded its business by opening its representative offices in Timor Leste

2010 Diversified its Business into Energy Sector

• In 2010, the company diversified its business into the energy sector and power plants as well as public private partnership projects.

2011 Established its New Subsidiaries

• The company established its subsidiaries, Duta Graha Arabia to capture the opportunities in Saudi Arabia. In the same year, the company also established PT. Duta Inti Energi which engages in renewable energy related business, particularly in hydro energy field.
